Windows 7 will require 1GB for its 32-bit platform and 2GB for the 64-bit version. Each of these operating systems will perform better and quicker with double the basic requirements.
RAM is essential to the proper function of programs. When you do not have an optimal amount of RAM, you will notice choppy graphics and delays. If you will be using graphics programs, more RAM will be essential. If you are a basic user who doesn’t play a lot graphics intense games or use many digital audio or video applications, 1GB should be sufficient. If you find yourself doing a lot of waiting for tasks to begin or complete, consider upgrading to more RAM. You will most likely notice significant results immediately.
